If you can keep this on your desk, unopened of course, we’ll exchange it for two marshmallows and a £500 discount against our first project.

EAT IT NOW? OR WAIT?

In the 1960 Stanford Marshmallow Test, researchers presented five year olds with a marshmallow and a tough choice. Eat it now - or wait 15 minutes and have two.

Some didn’t hesitate and demolished it instantly. Others wrestled for a while but simply couldn’t resist. Around a third of the children successfully waited and received two marshmallows as their reward.

Follow up research showed that the children who could defer their gratification did better in school, had more successful careers and even that they became healthier adults.

As an ideas driven creative agency, it’s something we’ve thought about a lot. It’s why we look to the long term rather than choosing a short lived easy win. It’s how we help our clients to make smart, sustainable choices.

We’d love to have the chance to tell you more about our approach. Get in touch by dropping an email to sam@dekko-creative.com and we’ll set up a chat.
